Grandmother Filomena's Apple strudel
Ingredients:
500g flour
160g sugar
300g butter
1 egg
1 vanilla sugar
1 lemon
1 salt
2 kg apple from South Tyrol
Lemon juice
Rum
Sultanas
Cinnamon
Bread crumbs
Preparation:
Peel the apples, remove the cores and cut into thin slices. Mix well with the remaining ingredients. Spread out the apple filling over the pastry and fold in the edges over it. Brush the strudel with whisked egg yolk and bake in a preheated oven at 180º C for approx. 25 minutes. Sprinkle with icing sugar.
