What does wellness mean?

The word "wellness" is similar to "well-being". This brings us right to the meaning of the activities that fall under the term "wellness". Those who go on a wellness holiday primarily want to improve their well-being, e.g. by taking care of their health, taking a break from everyday life, reducing stress, and spending more time in nature or with loved ones. It was with this in mind that we built Moseralm Dolomiti Spa Resort and are constantly improving it further. Our goal and aspiration is to offer you the highest form of well-being.

What happens at a spa day?

We are all different - and so we don't all have the same ideas about a relaxing and beneficial holiday. Our motto is: everything can be, nothing has to be. Our extensive wellness programme is open to all guests, and it's up to you what you choose to do. In general, holidaymakers at Moseralm love, for example, the view of the Dolomites from the large Sky Pool, the many appeals of our sauna area including a snow cabin, the pleasantly warm water in our cosy indoor pool with rock grotto or the relaxing effect of luxurious, tailor-made massages and beauty treatments. But wellness does not end in the spa area: we firmly believe that even our healthy gourmet cuisine and your outdoor adventures in the Dolomites will contribute significantly to your well-being.

What does wellness do to your body?

We all need a break from time to time. However, a wellness holiday is particularly designed to provide lasting relaxation for body and mind. A sauna session has many positive effects: it strengthens the immune and cardiovascular systems, detoxifies the body, clears the airways, and improves the complexion. Exercise in warm water gently strengthens muscles and joints and reduces sore muscles, a bath in the whirlpool promotes blood circulation and stimulates the removal of waste products from the tissue. And when you relax in our relaxation rooms with a view of the mountains, all your worries finally give way to pure relaxation and all stress evaporates as you find new balance.

What do I take to a spa day?

As a guest or day guest at Moseralm Dolomiti Spa Resort, we provide you with the most important accessories for your wellness day: bathrobe, slippers, and sauna towels. What else you should bring with you: swimwear for a dip in the pool and, if desired, entertainment for the resting periods - a light read, a podcast or your favourite relaxing music. For a little refreshment in between, we provide Dolomite spring water, teas and juices as well as healthy snacks. If you need or have forgotten anything, please do not hesitate to reach out.

What does adults only pool mean?

In an adults only spa or pool, entry is only permitted to people over a certain age limit, usually 16 years. An adult spa is therefore an oasis of peace for adults where you can relax and unwind undisturbed. Whether you are a couple newly in love or young parents - this quiet time for just the two of you can work wonders. At Moseralm, the Enrosadira Sky Pool is an adults only area. For younger guests who want to gain their first wellness experience, we have our indoor pool, the dress-on sauna, and a relaxation meadow with whirlpool.

Going to the sauna is healthy - provided it is done correctly. You should not go to the sauna hungry or on a full stomach. Make sure you drink enough fluids both before and after your sauna session. You should take a lukewarm shower before the sauna session and then a cold one after. Alternatively, cool down in our cold pool or snow cabin. A maximum of 3 sauna sessions of 8 to 15 minutes per day are recommended. While swimwear is permitted in a textile sauna, you should only cover yourself with your towel in a textile-free sauna. But make sure that you always sit or lie on a towel. A resting period of 30 to 45 minutes must be observed after each sauna session. Our spacious relaxation rooms with glass fronts and views of the Dolomites are the perfect place for this.

What to wear at a full body massage?

Have you booked a wellness treatment at our spa hotel in the Dolomites? Congratulations! This will be the icing on the cake of your holiday. If you are experiencing a treatment for the first time, our highly trained staff will be happy to explain the entire procedure, any preparatory steps and everything you may need. You can come to your wellness treatment in your bathrobe, and for facial treatments it is best to come without make-up. Depending on the treatment, different parts of the body are treated or oiled. If you have long hair, it is best to plan some time for a shower before dinner. For full body massages and treatments, we will provide you with disposable underwear, but for maximum comfort, most masseurs always cover the parts of your body that are not being treated with towels. If you have any other concerns, please do not hesitate to address them.

What does a hot stone massage do?

During a hot stone massage, flat basalt stones are heated to 50 degrees Celsius and placed on the body. This treatment method is over 2000 years old and originates from Hawaiian culture. Today, warm oil is also used. The hot stone massage promises holistic well-being: it alleviates stress symptoms and pain by improving circulation and mobility and guarantees deep relaxation through pleasant warmth. Would you like to embark on a wellness journey? Then be sure to also try our Japanese Kobido facial massage, the Southeast Asian bamboo massage, the Californian psychosomatic massage or one of our Ayurvedic treatments. If you prefer to stay in South Tyrol, treat yourself to a hay bath with Dolomite herbs.

How to really relax on holiday?

We've all been there: last-minute suitcase packing, stress at the airport, working through a long list of activities and returning from holiday more stressed than before. To prevent this from happening to you, you should follow a few tips: start planning and preparing for your holiday in good time - organise as much as possible in advance. Only put activities on your to-do list that you really enjoy or that provide relaxation, but don't plan too much and leave room for breaks or spontaneous detours. And finally, try going offline for a while. This way, everyday life is literally as far away as never before. You'll be amazed at how beautiful the world out there is!

Should you practice sports on holiday?

And now a little addendum, because experts recommend a balanced mix of exercise and rest periods for optimum results. If you exercise regularly at home, it's not a bad idea to keep moving on holiday too, but you can take it a little easier. If, on the other hand, you are generally very active, a break for several days can help to re-energise your body. And if you're out and about in the Dolomites during the day, you'll be training anyway. For rainy days, however, we recommend our forest fitness room with modern Technogym equipment.
