Child-friendly hikes and themed trails
Moseralm is the perfect base camp for your family walking holiday in the Dolomites, UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will find everything from stroller-friendly tours to easy via ferratas. If you want to discover the Dolomites with your children, we also recommend the many themed trails, such as the Planetary Trail in Gummer. There, young and old can learn interesting facts about the planets of the solar system at the various stations. The start and end point is the "Planetenweg" car park on the Steinegg-Gummer road - there is also an inn along the way. We will be happy to give you more tips on hiking with children in South Tyrol!
Child-friendly cycling paths
Try swapping your mountain boots for two wheels! A family cycling holiday in South Tyrol takes you along varied forest and meadow paths to fantastic viewpoints, cosy huts, and unique attractions. TThere are also many family-friendly bike tours starting directly from the hotel. The Carezza Trail starts just a few kilometers from the hotel, for those who prefer something a little more sporty (also suitable for children). A recommended tour with children is the Alpine pasture tour directly from the hotel with delicious Kaiserschmarrn pancakes at the Hagner Alm.
High ropes courses
The high ropes courses in South Tyrol impress with a variety of courses that are adapted to the age and experience level of visitors, as well as the strictest safety standards. The Obereggen high ropes course with four courses and 30 stations is located near Moseralm Dolomiti Spa Resort. Ropes, nets and bridges are mounted high up in the crowns of the larches and spruces and guarantee thrills for the whole family. Apart from the fun factor, the courses also help to train self-confidence, coordination and balance - they are ideal preparation for climbing on the rock.
Alpine coasters
The Alpine coasters in Italy are a highlight for anyone who doesn't want to miss out on a speedy descent even in the warmer months. The Fly Line Catinaccio offers a more leisurely and scenic descent. This attraction, which you can reach from Moseralm in less than half an hour, is a steel cable construction without ground contact with a length of 1,100 metres, on which you float downhill through the forest at a controlled speed in a comfortable harness with seat within 6 minutes. A truly magical experience for young and old nature lovers who want to try something new!
Museums
Not in the mood for the mountains? Rainy weather? Visit one of the many family-friendly museums in South Tyrol! Especially recommended for children are the Bolzano Archaeology Museum, where you can admire the famous glacier mummy Ötzi from the Neolithic Age, the Nature Museum in Bolzano, where children can learn about the fauna, flora and geology of South Tyrol in a playful way, and the Messner Mountain Museum at Sigmundskron Castle, which impressively presents the relationship between man and mountain in all its facets. Finally, very close to Moseralm lies the Gummer Planetarium, where guests can marvel at the course of the stars in miniature.
Other attractions
Ideal for a family holiday in the Alps in summer is a visit to one of the old mines in South Tyrol. The Villandro mine is not far from our family hotel in the Dolomites. During guided tours, you can immerse yourself in the world of the miners who extracted ore here under the most difficult conditions. The castles in South Tyrol are also popular with families, e.g. Prösels Castle near Fié allo Sciliar, which has an impressive armoury. And all animal lovers will feel particularly at home in the petting zoos in South Tyrol, for example at the Tuffalm in Fié allo Sciliar, where you can marvel at alpacas, rabbits, horses, and camels - reachable after a 45-minute hike.
Winter activities
If you want to be active with children in winter, the Dolomites are the place to be! The Carezza ski area, which extends around Moseralm, is one of the best ski resorts in Italy for families and part of the Dolomiti Superski, the largest ski carousel in Europe. The slopes are extremely sunny and also suitable for beginners. You also have the advantage that one of the slopes ends directly behind our hotel. Little fans of the cold season can also look forward to exciting toboggan runs, fun on the nearby ice rinks, wonderful snow hikes in the snowy winter paradise and the odd snowball fight.
Family wellness
Those who like to spend a cosy day indoors when it rains - or even with good weather - are well catered for at Moseralm Dolomiti Spa Resort. Thanks to the Family Spa with a 32°C indoor pool with water grotto and massage jets, as well as an outdoor whirlpool and dress-on sauna, guests of all ages can get a taste of wellness. There is also a kids' room with toys and a cosy corner, a table tennis and pool table, as well as a playground with swings, climbing wall, and slide. In winter, we even have our own curling rink. And there's plenty of space for everyone in our special family rooms and suites.
What can you do with children in South Tyrol? Quite a lot, at any time of the year! Thanks to the many excursion destinations nearby, a family holiday in the Dolomites is particularly recommended.
